Our commitment
Every price, grant figure, and technical claim on this site is verified against its primary source before publication. We do not publish a number unless we can point to where it came from.
Sources we use
We draw our data and technical references from the following primary sources:
- Home Energy Scotland — grant eligibility, application guidance, and funding amounts
- MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) — installer certification data and standards
- Ofgem — Smart Export Guarantee tariff rates, energy market data
- gov.scot — Scottish Government policy, funding programmes, and regulations
- Energy Saving Trust — independent energy-efficiency guidance and research
How often we review
All grant and tariff figures are reviewed monthly. Price ranges are updated quarterly against installer data.
Every page carries a “Last updated” date and a “Sources” line so you can see exactly when the content was last checked and where the numbers came from.
The reviewer
Content is reviewed by the Scottish Energy Efficiency technical team. Our installation partner, Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd, holds:
- MCS certification (IAA10151)
- TrustMark registration (3559930)
- Gas Safe registration (559575)
What we don’t do
- We never invent figures.
- We never guarantee savings.
- We label all illustrative calculations clearly as such.
- We state assumptions on screen — if a calculation uses a specific electricity price, panel output, or self-consumption rate, we tell you.
