How We Check Our Facts

Every price, tariff figure, and technical claim on this site is verified against its primary source before publication. We do not publish a number unless we can point to where it came from.

We draw our data and technical references from the following primary sources:

• Scottish Government energy data — policy, regulations, and energy market statistics
• MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) — installer certification data and standards
• Ofgem — Smart Export Guarantee tariff rates, energy market data
• Ofgem — Smart Export Guarantee tariff rates, energy market data

All tariff and incentive figures are reviewed monthly. Price ranges are updated quarterly against installer data.

Every page carries a “Last updated” date and a “Sources” line so you can see exactly when the content was last checked and where the numbers came from.

Content is reviewed by the Scottish Energy Efficiency technical team. We install through MCS-certified partners.

• We never invent figures.
• We never guarantee savings.
• We label all illustrative calculations clearly as such.
• We state assumptions on screen — if a calculation uses a specific electricity price, panel output, or self-consumption rate, we tell you.
